Google pushes RC30 update to patch ‘Jailbreak’
By Eric • Nov 7th, 2008 • Category: Lead StoryGoogle responded quickly to the recent security breach on the G1. The company is pushing an update to close this hole in the next few days.
From Google:
We’ve been notified of this issue (Jailbreaking of Android) and have developed a fix. We’re currently working with our partners to push the fix out and updating the open source code base to reflect these changes.
It seems that Google is able to react faster to exploits due to the OTA nature of it’s update system. While this is good news for those that want an up-to-date system, it adds to the frustration of those still waiting on previous updates.
